Our story started with a custom clothing company, a workshop full of equipment, and an idea born during an uncertain time.
Around 2020, when COVID changed everyday life and opportunities were limited, we started looking at the equipment we already had in a different way.
At the time, we were running a custom clothing company. We had the tools, machinery, and skills to bring designs to life, but we wanted to put them to use in a new way. Golf was an opportunity to do just that.
So we started making custom golf headcovers.
What began as a way to use our existing equipment soon became something much bigger. We discovered an opportunity to bring creativity, craftsmanship, and personality to an area of golf that we believed could offer so much more. We weren't interested in simply making another headcover. We wanted to make something golfers would be excited to put in their bags.
And just like that, Red Komodo Golf began to take shape.
Why Red Komodo?
The name goes back much further than the business itself.
As a kid visiting the Toronto Zoo, Dave encountered the Komodo dragon exhibit and learned about these remarkable animals and their island home. What stuck with him was their reputation as powerful predators capable of taking on surprisingly large prey.
That idea stayed with him.
Komodo dragons may come from a relatively small corner of the world, but they don't back down because something is bigger than they are. That became the perfect symbol for the mindset behind Red Komodo Golf.
We might be a smaller Canadian company, but we're not afraid of big competition.
We believe a small team with the right skills, creativity, and determination can compete with anyone. We don't need to be the biggest name in golf to make products that stand out. We just need to do things our way, do them well, and never lose sight of what makes us different.
Built from the ground up in Canada
Our beginnings in custom clothing gave us the equipment and experience to get started, but craftsmanship became the foundation of everything that followed.
Today, Red Komodo Golf makes its products by hand in Hamilton, Ontario. Our team combines quality materials, careful workmanship, and original designs to create headcovers and accessories for golfers who want something different.
From timeless classics to bold, creative designs and custom creations, our goal is to give golfers something that reflects their personality. We want our products to protect the equipment you've invested in while adding character to the bag you carry onto the course.
We're proud to be Canadian, proud of the work that happens in our shop, and proud of how far a simple idea has taken us.
